Days are running fast. I am not able to do stuff which I did effortlessly a year back. Age does have an impact. Yes, we never give importance to our health until there is a wake-up call. Guess, mine is at my door step. Yeah, though the amount of work I do these days has been considerably reduced from the past, I am always drained out of energy. Mind races where body lags behind. But, I consciously made few changes to my life. I used to hit the gym every day during last year as I wanted to look pretty bride. After my wedding vacation, I had homesick for few days and that was an excuse for me to skip my gym schedule.
One fine day, I felt blackouts. Then, for the next two day, I have been sleeping continuously. I couldn’t help myself even for having food. This sounded unusual. I visited my primary care physician and gave every test listed down in the sheet. As per test results, he said as my body doesn’t have required an amount of vitamins and anemic too. He prescribed vitamin shots for next six weeks and prescribed vitamin tablets too. Now I got another excuse to skip my gym schedule. My husband has been saying every time we spoke and reminded me about my schedule. But then, his motivation through phone call didn’t last for a day. I became a couch potato. For last few weeks, I am not able to function properly, skipped all my cooking, started eating out a lot as I am tired, lagged behind at office and last Friday, I can’t even wake up in the morning. I realize that my alarm was ringing but then I couldn’t pull myself out of my bed. I ended up in applying for sick leave. Since then, I made sure that I will begin to follow my gym schedule like my previous year. And I will always cook food on my own and avoid eating out.

It’s been a week now. I attended cycling session in my gym on Monday. Though I couldn’t do exactly as per trainer’s instructions, I was able to pedal for an hour. I had severe leg pain later that day. As my trainer Nadine says, pain is good. I was reminding me her mantra for the entire day. I again went to the gym on Wednesday and did elliptical for half an hour followed by Nadine’s core exercises. Today, I walked for an hour. So far, the start looks promising and let me see how my upcoming week goes on. I am also planning for six meals a day which I followed years back. So, let me tell you, before receiving your wake up call, start analyzing yourself and maintain your health, for health is wealth. If you see weight loss recipes and negative calories veggies/fruits in my space, it reassures my commitment to health.
